Here is your checklist for making the most of the “Royal Celebration of Leadership and Service!”
Develop your packing list!
If you are flying to Charlotte, don’t forget to pre-arrange for your ground transportation from the airport to your hotel. Call 704-593-1148.
Don’t forget your photo ID.
Ensure you have your itinerary, including any confirmation numbers for flights, hotels, conference registration, etc.
Bring your Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Constitution and Bylaws and Manual of Standard Procedure for the Plenary Sessions.
Don’t forget your comfortable shoes.
Of course, don’t forget to bring all of your required medication(s) and place in your carry-on baggage. (contact your airline carrier for information about baggage fees)
It will be hot and humid in Charlotte. You may need an umbrella, light jacket and/or wrap (for inside). Pack accordingly.
Power strip and chargers for all electronic devices. While there should not be a shortage of outlets in your room, if you have multiple roommates and you are all trying to charge your laptops, tablets, phones, cameras, etc., you’ll be glad that you have that power strip! Don’t forget to visit the State Farm Cyber Café in the Convention Center for your Internet and Charging Needs.
Cash and Credit Card - Get a supply of singles for tipping, and small bills for splitting checks in restaurants.
Remember to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water.
Lastly, don’t forget to bring your smile and pink and green patience for the large crowds.
